How to Block Sensitive Content on Instagram Explore Tab – Probably the hottest social media platform in the world , Instagram gives its users better control over what they choose to see. Recently, the Facebook- owned platform announced that it will allow people to block “sensitive content” in Instagram’s ‘Explore’ tab.
The newest Instagram feature, known as ‘Precise Content Control’, will allow people to choose whether they see certain posts in the Discover section. In its official posts , the company has defined sensitive content as obscene or violent posts that do not violate our guidelines but have the potential to upset some people.
There are three ways to decide to manage your Discover feed. You can also choose the default setting ‘Limit’ to let Instagram choose what’s best for you. Or if you welcome posts that expose Instagram’s content moderation policy, you can use the ‘Allow’ option. You can also select ‘Limit More’ to reduce the chance of encountering any “sensitive” images or videos.
Follow the steps below to check this new feature.
Allow or Block Sensitive Content on the Instagram App for Android and iOS
Log into the Instagram app and tap the profile icon.
Tap the hamburger menu in the top right corner
Select ‘Settings’ from the drop-down menu
Tap on ‘Account’
Tap on ‘Selective Content Control’
Choose your preferred setting from ‘Allow’, ‘Limit (Default)’ and ‘Limit More’.
After you choose your preference, the changes should immediately appear in the Explore tab. One thing to note, however, is that Instagram relies on artificial intelligence and a powerless group of 15K moderators from around the world to mark posts as “sensitive.” Therefore, there is a possibility that the results may not always be correct.
