Why do you need to know the battery status on your smartphone?
Modern phones use lithium-polymer (Li-Pol) and lithium-ion ( Li-ion ) batteries, which have a number of advantages. Firstly, such batteries are not affected by the environment: they can withstand temperatures from -20°C to +40°C. The smartphone will not turn off in a big frost or noticeably overheat in the heat.
Secondly, Li-Pol and Li-ion do not have a “memory” effect. This means that you do not need to carry out frequent calibration and charge your phone from 0% to 100%.
It is recommended to put the device on charge at 15-20%, and disconnect from the power source when it reaches 70-80%. But even if the smartphone is charged up to 100% and will be connected to the outlet for a few more hours, it’s okay. When 100% is reached, the power controller simply shuts off the current supply.
Third, Lithium Polymer and Lithium Ion batteries are small and light, so they don’t add extra weight to the phone. Also, these batteries are safe when used properly.

How to Check Battery Wear Level on Xiaomi (Redmi, POCO)
There are three main methods to determine the level of battery wear in MIUI 12. To carry out these procedures, you do not need to connect to a computer and use additional equipment.
Please note that these methods do not guarantee 100% accuracy. There may well be errors. For a more accurate measurement, you need to use special devices, which is not suitable for all users.
Method 1: Using the AIDA64 App
There are many applications on Google Play to check the status of the battery.
Unfortunately, most of these programs are useless in the course of diagnosis. But there is still a working application – this is AIDA 64. This utility is actively used to view extended information about the device.
- Download and install the app from Google Play.
- Open the application and go to the section “Battery” .
- Here we pay attention to the items “Health” and “Discharge rate” . The “Health” line shows the approximate state of the battery. It shows “Good” on my phone, which means that the battery has lost no more than 5-8% of its original capacity. Also look at the line “Discharge rate”. The normal value is no more than 200-300 mA . But before that, it is important to close all applications and remove resource-intensive background tasks, as well as charge the smartphone up to 100%. If the discharge rate is very high, then the condition of the battery is rapidly deteriorating and it may soon need to be replaced.
Method 2: Create a report
A simple and effective way, thanks to which you can quickly diagnose the battery. On Xiaomi phones , the Report system application , which provides extended data on the state of the smartphone. Since the tool is already preinstalled, there is no need to download additional software.
- We go to “Settings” – “About phone” .
- We scroll the page to the item “All parameters”, and several times quickly click on the line “Processor” .
- We wait a few minutes while the report is being generated. You can watch the process in the notification shade.
- Click on the “Report created” notification that appears. A ” bugreport “ zip file will appear in the internal shared drive . To unpack, click on it and select “Extract to current folder”.
- A folder with the same name will appear. We open it and see the same archive “bugreport-camellian_global …”. Extract it to the same folder.

Method 3: Entering the engineering menu
This method does not work on all Xiaomi devices, so use it only if the other two methods were ineffective. Engendering Mode works correctly on Android 10. If you have Android 11 and MIUI 12.5, the procedure may not be useful.
- Open the Phone app and enter the combination *#*#6485#*#* .
- The Battery and Charger Info page appears. First of all, we pay attention to the lines ” MF _05″ and ” MF _06″ . The first line indicates the current capacity of the battery, and the second – the original (declared by the manufacturer). Knowing these values, we can determine the level of wear.
- The formula MF _05÷ MF _06×100 will also come in handy . For example, MF_05 is 4500 (current battery capacity) and MF_06 is 5000 (initial capacity). So 4500÷5000×100=90. It turns out that the current capacity is 90%: the battery has lost 10% of its original capacity.
- The line ” MF _02″ displays the number of smartphone charging cycles. During the year it can be about 100-200 charges.
